I wrote this piece for a website that posts fitness related interviews. Here is the first part of the interview.
Hello Fitness Fans,
My name is Sharissa Reichert, and I am one of the most popular trainers in Brooklyn, NY for Senior Population.
I am 53 years old and have a 24 year old son, who is a Chef in Upstate New York. I am married to G.F. Newland who is a children’s book illustrator and a musician.
I have been in the Fitness Industry since 2002. I lost my good job after 9/11 and ended up working part time as a babysitter at a gym.
After 6 months working at the gym, I decided to make fitness my new career. I noticed that many of my health problems started to disappear after I started training. I wanted to show others the joys of the gym so I got my Personal Training Certification. When a new client says to me “I am not a gym person” I tell them, “Neither am I. The only difference between you and me is a few years of practice. I was not a gym person at one time too. I know what it’s like to walk into a gym, wonder what all of this equipment is, see all these buff people around and feel out of my element. I have been there.”

How are we going to get enough physical activity during this time when we should not go out? We are all making sacrifices to save lives. We need to stay healthy too. With my upstairs neighbors encouragement ( she dose the stairs every day!) I went up and down 4.5 flights of stairs 25 times. My exercise buddies ran, but I am not allowed to do any high impact activities. My doc says the new hip will last for 30 years if I am carful with it.
We are all home cooking a little more often these days. We might be serving all 3 meals for more than 1 person more often. This is good time to experiment with cooking. Try a new recipe. Cook that thing that you always wanted to cook but had no time to cook it. I am using food grade essential oils in my cooking to add some bolder flavors to my dishes. No preservatives , chemicals food additives, or old dry spices are just a few the good things about cooking with essential oils. I use Young Living oils. They are the superior product in the big world of Essential Oils.
