Check out my new LiveStream show “Gear Head ” where I talk about workout gear, exercise equipment and workout clothes. The show goes live every Wednesday at 11:00am. I do the show live and straight off the cuff. I am having a good time with this LiveStream, I get to show how much I know and give the public good easy ideas for home exercise On the next episode of Gear Head, I pull out all of the stops and talk about Glide Boards and nutritional yeast.
How are we going to get enough physical activity during this time when we should not go out? We are all making sacrifices to save lives. We need to stay healthy too. With my upstairs neighbors encouragement ( she dose the stairs every day!) I went up and down 4.5 flights of stairs 25 times. My exercise buddies ran, but I am not allowed to do any high impact activities. My doc says the new hip will last for 30 years if I am carful with it.
We are all home cooking a little more often these days. We might be serving all 3 meals for more than 1 person more often. This is good time to experiment with cooking. Try a new recipe. Cook that thing that you always wanted to cook but had no time to cook it. I am using food grade essential oils in my cooking to add some bolder flavors to my dishes. No preservatives , chemicals food additives, or old dry spices are just a few the good things about cooking with essential oils. I use Young Living oils. They are the superior product in the big world of Essential Oils.
Happy Monday Everyone!
This weekend I celebrated 6 months since I got my hip replaced. I am so happy with the way the scar came out. Many people who have this procedure have a scar that is 8 to 12 inches long along the side of their bodies. I got the latest state of the art procedure.
I have been streaming these off the cuff, stream of consciousness if you will videos about fitness and nutrient dense foods. I decided to create videos for my friends during the Social Distancing phase of humans dealing with the pandemic. I got such a good response I made them all official. Enjoy and learn with me every Wednesday at 11 on my Face Book Page.
Yes, I am writing a book. It is called ‘Throw Out the Chair.’ An Exercise Guide for Healthy Active Seniors.
Check out my new live stream show on FaceBook ‘ Gear Head with Sharissa’
I have been streaming every Wednesday and Sunday at 11 am on my FaceBook page for business.
The show is all about home exercise equipment. I review home exercise equipment and show you how to use it. I also throw in some philosophy, general health tips, and some fun fitness related stories. Get the benefit of my 20 years of experience in home exercise equipment and exercise programing for free before it is gone. I will be deleting all of the shows when we can all go outside again.
Here is an email that I sent to a client about how to jump safely and effectively.

When jumping it is very important not to land too hard on your knees.
When you jump up spring up using your quads and land lightly on your feet with your butt sticking out as if in a squat position. Keep your core tight though out the exercise and try and absorb the force of your landing into your quads and core, not on your feet, ankles or knees.
Form is very important for you with jumping because you are a Runner. Personally I don’t recommend jumping a ton for age 40 plus humans but can be done safely.
Want to improve your jumping? 20 jumps per day is recommended for building and maintaining bone density.
Try 40 jumps per day every other day. No jumping if your quads are sore, I used to use a step for jumping but a low hurdle will work too. They also have these plyometic boxes https://www.dickssportinggoods.com/products/plyo-boxes.jsp
or a trampoline will be better for your joints.
